An Assistance Dog Training Organization

Our Presentation Program

The Presentation Program is composed of staff and volunteers who are trained to represent Handi-Dogs Inc., at public events, at schools, churches, civic and charitable organizations, businesses, and government agencies.

Increasing numbers of assistance dogs appearing in public have given rise to questions on matters ranging from social etiquette to legal liability. Our program provides information about and demonstrations of assistance dog work so that people may come to understand:

What assistance dogs are and what they do.
What people should do when they encounter an assistance dog.
The rights and responsibilities of service dogs and their owners.

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) provides assistance dogs and their owners protection from discrimination. Many state laws ensure additional rights. Assistance dogs may accompany their owners into any establishment or conveyance which serves the public.

Presentations are offered at no charge as a service to the community by Handi-Dogs Inc., and the Presentation Program volunteers.
